Buying Property at Foreclosure Auctions Can be Risky © 2007 by Tony Youngs

  • If you have attended a foreclosure auction and you don't quite understand what is going on, maybe this article can shed some light. The first thing you will need is a list of properties that are advertised to go up for auction. You need to obtain a copy of the "foreclosure legal notices" for the county where the auction is that you attend. For instance, for Dekalb county, the legals come out on Thursday in the "Champion". For Cobb County, get the Friday edition of the "Marietta Daily Journal". Fulton County is the "Fulton County Daily Report" Etc. I maintain a list for all Georgia counties, Contact me for the name of the paper for your county. There are lists you can subscribe to that has all the major surrounding counties such as the Atlanta Foreclosure Report.
